Abstract
Fruits of cultivated Akebia trifoliata were used as experimental materials and the active components were extracted with 80% ethanol from pericarp, flesh and seeds respectively. The ethanol extracts were obtained by centrifuging and filtering, distilling and concentrating on revolving evaporation apparatus at reduced pressure, and then vacuum drying. The inhibitory activities of these extracts on tyrosinase were examined with LDOPA as substrate and arbutin as positive control. The results showed that the extracts from different parts of akebia fruit all had obvious inhibitory activity on tyrosinase, the strongest effects occurred with flesh extract.Flesh extract at 200 μg/mL had similar level of effects to arbutin at 270 μg/mL concentration.
