STUDIES ON IN VITRO CULTURE OF POLLINATED OVARY IN INTERSPECIFIC CROSSES BETWEEN BRASSICA SPECIES

The present paper reports on the method of in vitro culture of pollinated ovary in interspecific crosses, Brassica carinata×B.campestris,B.carinata×B.napus and B.carinata×B.juncea.Experimental result indicated that optimum time in vitro of ovaries of 3 kinds of interspecific crosses was 5-10、7-12 and 10-17 days after pollination, respectively.Through ovary culture, hybrid seedlings were obtainted in₁₀ crosses.Casein hydrolysate was of no advantage to the development of embryos.0.2mg/L BA added to MS media promoted embryo formation.MS and L.S.M.medium as well as the culture technique used in this experiment was more fit to culture pollinated ovaries in B.carinata×B.campestris and B.carinata×B.napus.
