EFFECT OF RED OR FAR-RED LIGHT AND PLANT HORMONE ON THE GROWTH AND ACTIVITY OF CAT, POX IN SEEDING OF RICE

  • Both Red(R) and Far-red light(Fr) inhibit the growth of embryonic bud of rice As for embryonic bud sheath, R inhibits its growth, Fr shows partial reversible effect. The single IAA of certain concentration encourages the growth of sheath, but the effect of GA3 is opposite to that of IAA. As far as CAT and POX of rice is concerned, R encourages their activity, however, Fr shows the effect of reversibility. Both the single 10-2 ppm IAA and the single 10-2 ppm GA3 encourage the activity of CAT and POX. The result that plant hormone and light are given simultaneously is complex. In 10-2 ppm IAA, R shows its encouragement, while Fr shows its inhibition; but in 10-2 ppm GA3, on the contrary, R inhibits their activity and Fr demonstrates its encouragement.
