The Study on the Flora and Resources of the Virgin Forest in Hungou,Zhongtiaoshan,Shanxi

Hungou,belonging to Zhongtiao Ranges in the southern Shanxi,is located in the core protective area of Lishan Nature Reseve.It is located in 35°20′7″-35°23′10″N and 111°54′3″-111°56′29″E.There were 529 species of seed plants,belonging to 321 genera and 97 families in Hungou,among which gymnosperms had 3 families,3 genera and 5 species,and angiosperms had 94 families,318 genera and 524 species.The angiosperms consisted of dicotyledon and monocotyledon with 87 families,284 genera and 470 species,and 7 families,34 genera and 54 species,respectively.There were 14 kinds of wild plants protected by the government with focal point and 26 ones by Shanxi Province distributed in this district where was the most concentrated area with the precious plants in imminent danger.The flora of genera in Hungou had some typical characteristics of warm-temperate deciduous broad-leave forest.Among them,temperate elements,with 184 genera and accounting for 57.32% in the total genera(excluding cosmopolitan) were of significantly dominant,while the tropics showed a little bit prominence,which indicated the characteristic of the flora was transitional from the subtropical to the warm temperate zone.Moreover,among the floristic elements of species,endemic to China had 212 species,accoun-ting for 40.08% in the total species,and were of significantly dominant.The temperate elements had 177 species,accoun-ting 33.46% in the total species,took a little advantage,while the tropical elements were very inferior.It showed that,on the one hand,the core position of this flora on the forming and deve-lopment of Chinese plant flora,on the other hand,it showed the close connection between its characteristic of temperate zone and Eastern Asia ones.With a long geological history,advantaged natural ecological conditions and stable ecological system,Hungou retains lots of monotype,depauperate genera and ancient sole survivor plants.Furthermore,many integrants of subtropical flora constitute the important part of Hungou flora.There are 17 types of wild plants resources in Hungou.Plenty of the plants can be utilized in various ways;however,they have not been exploited and utilized for different reasons.Therefore,with selection,emphasis and plan,we should develop them systematically and industrially in large scale.
