  • Research on Pinus pollen under the light microscope and the scanning electron microscope shows that there are some differences in structure among them. Based on the character of the structure, such as furrow-membrane sculpture, transition between cap and furrow-membrane, marginal frill ,body frill ,bladdercap, outline, intersection of bladder and furrow-membrane, bladder shape, cap sculpture, body and bladder length and distance between bladders, pollen morphologies of 9 species have been observed in detail. Implication in plant taxonomy, paleovegetation and paleoclimate has also been discussed.
