ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF CIS-5, 11, 14, 17 EICOSATRAENOIC ACID IN SEED OIL FROM PLANTS OF TAXODIACEAE
An unusual fatty acid was isolated from seed-oil of Cuninghamia lancelata (Lamb.) Hook. by the combined method of urea adducts formation and column chromatography. On the basis of data obtained from GC, UV, MS, NMR, and IR, this particular fatty acid was elucidated as cis-5, 11, 14, 17, Eicosatraenoic acid.
