REPORTS ON THE CHROMOSOME NUMBERS OF MALUS IN CHINA

  • This paper reports on the chromosome numbers of 17 species of Malus in China, including 22 materials. The results show that polyploid is 44.6% in all materials. Some of them differ with source of materials on ploidy. This result may be applied to hereditary breeding of fruit trees in China.
