  • Short-term graft compatibility were investigated f or Wuzhi-2,Tongshan-5 and Jinkui on nine species. In addition, resistance to Meloidogyne were also screened for these nine Actinidia species.Generally, graft compatibi-lity and resistance were all significantly different:the seedlings from fine varieties of A.delicios a or A.chinensis had the highest graft compatibility wit h Wuzhi-2,Tongshan-5 and Jinkui, resulted in 100% success; and they were most r esistant to Meloidogye among these nine rootstocks. The other eig ht rootstocks were not equal to A.deliciosa and A.chinen sis:Though three graft combinations,Wuzhi-2/A.rufa,Tong shan-5/A.rufa and Tongshan-5/M16,have high success rate( >80%),A.rufa was not resistant to Meloidogyne; M16 and A.lijiangensis were resistant, but success rate of t heir graft combinations were lower; the other five rootstocks,A.guilinensis,A.grandiflora,A.hupehensis,A.persicina and A.macrosperma, were not resistant to Meloidogyne, also, success rate of their graft combinations were not high.According to graft compatibility and resi stance,A.deliciosa and A.chinensis were best roo tstocks among these nine Actinidia species.Incompatible cause wa s studied.
