  • A new orchid,Paphiopedilum smaragdinum Z.J.Liu et S.C.Chen (Subgen.Paphiopedilum,Sect.Paphiopedilum),is described and illustrated.The type specimen was collected from Gaoligong Mountains.It is related to Paphiopedilum tigrinum Koopowitz et Hasegawa,from which it differs by having a yellowish-greenish flower neither spotted nor striped with deep color,and an oblong staminode with mucronate apex up to 1-1.5 mm long.
