  • The distributing centers of Ulmus lamellosa community on Mt.Huoshan and Mt.Zhongtiaoshan have been selected as 2 stands and been designed 7 sampling lands, where 585 plots were investigated by sampling method.Based on the data,U.lamellosa community characteristics were analyzed about the specific composition, the flora feature, the community physiognomy, the vertical structure and the regulation of environment. The indexes of the important value and the species diversity (Shannon Wiener index;Simpson index and Pielou index) were measured in U.lamellosa community in the sampling stands. The results are as follow. The community of U.lamellosa mainly distributed to middle altitude montane at 1100-1650 m;the specific composition in the community is 156 species,it can be the feature of north temperate zone with the genus of boreal temperate zone being absolute dominance. The species and quantity of phanerophytes and therophytes were showed to the area feature for distribution of U.lamellosa community where temperature and rainfall are moderate in summer, but cold and dry in winter. The average height of the arborous layer was 13 m.The index H was 1.0260-1.5907 at tree layer, 0.9983 - 2.4478 at brush layer,0.9047-3.0621 at herb layer. This discussion aims at scientific sustainable deve lopment and conservation of this rare phytobiocenose.
