Isolation and Identification of a Free Radical Scavenger from Cnestis ferruginca

  • By means of 1,1-dipheny-2-picylhydrazyl (DPPH) TLC-assay, a strong free radical scavenger was detected from a MeOH extract of the leaves of Cnestis ferruginca. The free radical scavenger was isolated by reversed-phase preparative chromatography and liquid chromatography, and identificated as p-hydroxyphenyl-6-O-trans-caffeoyl-β-D-glucopyranoside by means of HR ESI-MS, NMR (1H, 13C,DEPT), UVand chamical methods.The bioactivities of this compound were also discussed.
