Abstract
Variation of activities of hydroxypyruvate reductase(HPR),glycolate oxidase(GO),catalase(CAT),SOD and total respiratory rate and MDA content under flooding stress were stu- died in leaves of tobacco and rape. The results showed that the photorespiratory enzymes of both plants were increased with the prolonged flooding time. While these enzymes in rape were significantly higher than those of tobacco. The activities of SOD in both plants were increased after two days of flooding treatment, while the activity of SOD in rape was decreased slightly in the later stage of flooding stress. The content of MDA in both plants were increased under flooding stress.
