A Floristic Study of the Rare and Endangered Plants in Jiugongshan Nature Reserve

  • According to available statistics, there are about 33 species of rare and endangered plants in Jiugongshan Nature Reserve. 62.26% of all the rare and endangered plant species in Hubei Province and 8.51% of such taxa in China. According to current classification criteria, there are 4 endangered species, 15 threatened species and 14 rare species in the reserve, 14 species have been categorized as second-level protected species and 19 species as third-level protected species. Jiugongshan Nature Reserve constitutes an important reservoir of rare and endangered plants in Hubei Province. In this article recommendations for the protection of rare and endangered plants in Jiugongshan Nature Reserve were presented.
