Abstract
Root-tip metaphase chromosomes of Pinus massoniana were sequentiallystained with CMAand DAPI. P. massoniana had a pair of metacentric chromosomes withtwo CMA-bands at proximal and interstitial regions,six pairs of metacentric chromosome with interstitial CMA-band, a pair of metacentric chromosome with proximal CMA-band, and three pairs of metacentric or submetacentric chromosome without CMA-band as well as a pair of submetacentric chromosome with proximal CMA-band.But the DAPIbanding pattern was different from CMA banding pattern. P. masoniana had three pairs of metacentric chromosomes with two DAPI-bands at proximal and interstitial regions, a pair of metacentric chromosome with interstitial DAPI-band, sixpairs of metacentric chromosome with proximal DAPI-band,and two pairs of metacentric or submetacentric chromosome without DAPL-band.
