Abstract
The submicrostructure of leaf surface in 3 wild Oryza species,2 cultivars of O.sativa, and the hybrids of the wild rice species were compared with cultivated rice, and studied using scanning electronic microscope. The differences in stomatal frequency and characteristics of papicles on stomate, and the large tubercle papicles on phellem among species were observed. For the hybrids of cultivated rice with wild rice, the submicrostructure of leaf surface was influenced by their parents related with the genetic distance between two species.
