Abstract
The relationship between electrical impedance parameter and relative electrolyte leakage of Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) seedling leaves under NaCl stress was measured. Results showed that with the increasing concentration of NaCl, extracellular resistance, intracellular resistance, and relaxation time initially decreased, then increased, and then finally decreased again. Conversely, the distribution coefficient of relaxation time showed the opposite pattern. Membrane permeability increased gradually, while proline firstly increased then decreased. There were significant negative correlations among extracellular resistance, intracellular resistance, relaxation time, and proline content. A significant negative correlation was found among extracellular resistance, relaxation time, and membrane permeability. These results indicate that the extent of Moso bamboo leaves stressed by NaCl was reflected effectively through electrical impedance parameter spectroscopy, which is an effective method to study bamboo adversity stress.
