Abstract:
A few years ago, a rare and endangerous wild flower
Paeonia suffruticosa Andr. var.
papaveracea (Andr.) Kerner(
f.albus)and its natural hybrid(
f.rosea-pietus) were found by expedition to Shennongjia in the west region of Hubei ProvinceThis paper represents the different morphological characteristics, geographic distribution, ecological habit, site condition of the wild flower. According to our investigation, this species is originally distributed in the northwest of China, then gradually from Tsinlin and Daba mountain expand to Shennongjia area, between 1100—2500m region above sea level. Because the ecotopie and ecoclmatic are quite defferent, the growth adaptability is not similar too. This species may provide a very important germplasm for cross breeding.
