Abstract:
This paper deals with the pollen germination of
Michelia yunnanensis in vitro and on the stigma of
Michelia calicicola. The germinating rate of the pollen of
M.yunnanensis in wild field is different from that of pollen of
M.yunnanensis cultivated in Kunming Botanical Garden, namely 90% and 20% respectively. The phenomenon that two pollen tubers, which germinate from pollen, is observed for the first time. There, is not rejection between the stigma of
M. calicicola and the pollen of
M. yunnanensis because the germinating rate and time on the stigma of
Michelia calcicola is similar to that in vitro.
