Abstract:
Mature seeds were used as explant to study the callus induction, subculture, and plant regeneration of
Zoysia sinica Hance. The results showed that the maximum rate of callus induction was 43.0% and occurred on the modified MS medium (MS
m) supplemented with 2.5 mg/L 2,4-D, 0.25 mg/L 6-BA, and 1-2 mg/L thiamine. The optimum subculture medium was MS
m containing 0.1 mg/L 6-BA and 2.0 mg/L 2,4-D. 30%-60% calli type of white to yellowish could regenerate plants on MS medium free of growth regulators.
