Abstract: The method of using the peppermint oil compound as pretreatment agent tomake plant chromosomal specimens was studied. The 31 species were tested by thismethod. The result showed that the plant chromosomes dispersed well and the images ofthe chromosome were clear and distinct. And this method has the following characteristics: It is easy to operate and the price of the chemical reagents is cheaper. So the methodis practical.
