CHROMOSOME NUMBERS OF SIX SPECIES IN THE GENUS AMYGDALUS FROM CHINA

  • Chromosome numbers in the genus Amygdalus of China are reported as follows: 1. A. communis L. 2n=16(2x), the number in accord with that reported by Soviet authors(1948, 1962.); 2. A. triloba(Lindl.)Ricker 2n=64(8x), the same as that reported by Kobel(1928), but different from the one(2n=16)reported by Zeven(1975); 3. A. pedunculata Pall. 2n=96(12x), different from the one(2n=88)reported by Mesicek. J.(1969); 4. A. mongolica(Maxim.)Yü. 2n = 16(2x); 5. A. tangutica Korsh. 2n = 16(2x); 6. A. ledehouriana Schlecht 2n=16(2x). The latter 3 numbers are reported for the first time.
