STUDIES ON THE MORPHOGENETIC CAPACITY OF CALLUS AND ORGANOGENESIS IN ASPARAGUS OFFICINALIS L.

  • Four types of callus in Asparagus officinalis L. were observed, The light green, compact and tubercular callus was a typical callus of organogenesis. The light yellow, friable and granular callus was a typical callus of embryogenesis. The organ primordia derived from the meristematic cellular masses with monopolarity. Generally, the bud primordia originated exogenously and the root primordia produced endogenously.
