STUDIES ON FRUIT SETTING AND FRUIT GROWTH HABIT OF AKEBIA TRIFOLIATA UNDER ARTIFICIAL CULTIVATION

  • Fruit setting and the fruit growth habit of Akebia trifoliata were studied under cultivation. The results showed that the percentage of fruit setting reached 13.5% under cultivation.Fruits set from the third to thirtieth nodes on one year-old branches. It flowered in the late of March and it's flowering stage was about 30 d.Heavy fruitfalling occurred in the second ten days of April and the first ten days of May.There were2S curves from blossom falling to maturity in fruit growth. The growth-period of fruit was about 150 d , when could be classified into five stages, i.e.fertilization, rapid-growing.slow-growing.fulling and premature growing. The results of generalized variance analysis showed that this division was both necessary and rational.
