Effects of Storage Time on Germination Percentage and Protective Enzymes Activity of Ginkgo biloba L. Pollen

  • The effects of storage time on ginkgo pollen’s germination percentage,SOD(Superoxide dismutase),POD(Peroxidase)and CAT(Catalase)activity were studied in this paper. The results show that the pollen’s germination percentage degraded from 88.89% to 15.76% ;15 days later SOD activity decreased by 80%;the activity of POD reduced significantly to its 10% primary activity;CAT activity declined 70% slowly as well;with lengthening of storage time. Protective enzymes activity dropping with the declination of pollen’s germination percentage stored at room temperature. The effects of POD on germination percentage is larger than that of SOD and CAT.
