Correlation between Abiotic-stress in Soil and Organic-acid Secretion by Root

  • Secretion of organic-acid from roots can operate by multiple mechanisms in response to a number of well-defined environmental stresses. This responses are highly stress and plant-species specific. Organic-acid especially low-molecular organic-acid,such as malate, citrate and oxalate, can carry varying negative charge,so they have been proposed being involved in many processes operating in the rhizosphere, including nutrient acquisition, metal detoxification and mineral weathering, ect. This review summarized the correlation between abiotic-stresses(Fe,Pand Al) and organic-acid secretion by roots. In addition, this review briefed the action of organic-acid in the rhizosphere.
