Begonia parvuliflora A. DC., a new record of Begoniaceae from China

  • Begonia parvuliflora A. DC., a rare tuberous species previously known only from Myanmar, has not been recorded since 1869. In 2019, it was rediscovered in Yunnan, China. Voucher specimens were deposited at the Herbarium of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (HITBC). The species is classified as Critically Endangered (CR) according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.
