Current advancement on stress resistance and its underlying mechanisms in tetraploid plants

Tetraploids are important breeding resources;thus,their creation and stress resistance research has drawn increasing attention.In this article,we summarize current progress in the stress resistance (e.g.,cold,drought,heat,salt,and disease) of tetraploid plants and analyze the underlying mechanism based on tissue and cell structure,physiology,molecular responses,and epigenetic modification.
